Avril Lavigne and Nelly Furtado were among the big winners at last night's 19th annual SOCAN Awards Gala at the Carlu theatre in Toronto, taking five awards between them for having had a part in composing the Canadian pop songs that achieved the greatest number of plays on Canadian radio during 2007.
