Football star David Beckham landed in Auckland Airport to a powhiri and around 100 fans. Beckham wasn't talking to media but after several waiata and a haka performed by Te Waihino a Kupe Beckham hugged several fans and signed some autographs.

A one-foot high gold statue of Beckham has been placed in Bangkok's Pariwas Buddhist Temple alongside about 100 other statues of minor deities - a spot normally reserved for angels. Sculptor, Thongruang Haemhod made the idol to keep Beckham's memory alive for the next thousand years.
